Does Twilio have an iMessage API?
No. Twilio sells SMS, MMS, RCS, WhatsApp, voice, email and video, but not iMessage. Every channel a CPaaS resells has a wholesale door — carrier interconnects for SMS, the GSMA specification for RCS, an official Business Platform for WhatsApp. iMessage has none, so there is nothing for Twilio to buy.
The reason, precisely
iMessage is Apple's proprietary network, running end-to-end between Apple devices, and Apple has never sold wholesale access to it. Twilio cannot integrate with something nobody is selling. The full explanation of the gap.
And they would not want to
The only way in is the way every provider in this category uses: operate Apple accounts and devices at scale behind an API. A public company with carrier relationships and a compliance department is not going to build a business on infrastructure Apple's terms do not contemplate. That is a rational risk decision, not a technical limitation.
What Twilio offers that gets confused with it

- SMS to iPhones — arrives in the Messages app, in green. It is SMS.
That second one causes most of the confusion: "Twilio supports Apple Messages" is true, and does not mean what a developer searching for an iMessage API wants it to mean.
What to do instead
